Reminders

Teacher Shout-Outs: Next time you are in the building, take a minute to give a teacher a shout-out. Write something nice about something you have seen a teacher do/say or for the extra work they have put in with your child. A bulletin board has been placed across the hall from the main office, post-its and markers can be found in the main office.

Save the Date 5th Grade Parents: The district will be hosting a Middle School 101 workshop on May 29th. More information on the time and location will be coming.

From the Nurse: Two Watchung students is the past several weeks have come down with Fifth Disease. Information has been sent out to the families of the classroom. We will update you with any further cases arise.

Parking during arrival and dismissal:  Please make sure you are following ALL parking regulations on the streets surrounding Watchung School. We are particularly having a problem with people parking on the North Side of North Fullerton in the morning during drop off. If you are unsure, please take the time to read the sign! Also, the parking lot is for STAFF ONLY. Please do not pull in and park during dismissal. Thank you for your cooporation.

Support a Watchung Staff Member: Megan Matson (our speech teacher) is participating in the Amazing Race MFEE fundraiser with her sister as team Sister Sleuths. Please pledge your support on her fundraising page or visit the general fundraising page to support other local teams.

Notes from the PTA:

"Cyber-Teens in a Digital World: The Good, the Bad, and the OMG!” - What role does social media play in middle school? Will my children be left out if I don’t give them a smartphone? What do I need to know about gaming? Join us for a panel of Glenfield students and parents to discuss these questions and many more. Moderated by CNBC’s “Squawk Alley” co-anchor and Hillside parent, Jon Fortt. Tuesday, May 14, 7:00 - 8:30 PM @ Hillside Elementary School. This event is open to caregivers and kids. Please spread the word and bring friends!

SAVE THE DATE: June 1, 2019: 4th Grade Car Wash at Watchung School. Proceeds help support Our Fall camping Trip. Look out for more details...including signups to help, donate items and of course WASH!!!

Annual Yankee Outing: Join the New York Yankees and your Watchung Elementary School friends and family for a fun-filled outing at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, May 19th as the Yankees take on the Tampa Bay Rays! Purchase your tickets now.
